Thought for the Day

As a woman I am full of the need to nurture someone or something ie., an ideal, an adventure, a project…. All of these are venues to allow my inner self to be developed and satisfied. Life in each of it’s different stages proposes its possibilities of fulfillment. As we move from stage to stage in our lifes we may find ourselves searching for a different avenue to perform and accomplish which feeds the since of worth within ourselves. So I challenge myself and you too, EVERYDAY to rise and shine and look for every little situation that we can make a difference in. This will not only impact those around you but will also fulfill ourselves. So if you are a little down, open your eyes and look for an area around you that you can make a positive impact upon. No matter how large or small. Start with the small stuff! Smile at someone, you may make a difference in that one persons life. Hug someone, you may impact them from within. Be a blessing and Be Blessed! Njoy your day…….. until tomorrow……..

Thought for the Day

Another day is here and I ponder just what it will bring……. For sure I will take the time to appreciate the blessings of today and look forward to the adventures of tomorrow. Truly as I live my life, I want to make sure I don’t allow myself to miss any moments of progression. I will purpose to go forward and enjoy the possibilities that arise and hopefully not miss any that sneak up on me. Good Morning!

Live Life and Be Who You Are

Life is fleeting and time is too. Day by day we should be about the things we ponder and desire to accomplish. In life the time we spend pondering should be a focus on the very things we would like to accomplish. The time of establishing who we are and who we will be to others is now. Take up the moment and develop it into a positive direction. Go with the since of producing the very thing you desire to do. Don’t waste your time thinking you can’t do something. Take what you want to do and do it. Cultivate the since of your desire and allow it to become something you have accomplished. We are here and can be about the things that we can accomplish or we can do nothing. What is the fun in that?? I do say….. do do do until you can’t do no more!! : - )

Autumn Harvest

The holidays are coming fast! To celebrate fall or Thanksgiving here is a card that can do both. I love to emboss. I enjoyed trying this technique. I embossed the images, misted with water, and then used an ink drop along with my Aqua Painter to apply the ink to the leaf images.

New Babies :) Don't you just love them???

In life we experience joy and sadness. In our family we had a bit of both in one day. How rare for this to happen on the same day. As my grandmother was facing her final moments in life, my niece was in labor with her baby. My grandmother was in her 90's, she was a determined strong women who lived her life with perseverence. She overcame her trials and left a legacy of love and strength to all her family. We celebrate the joy that she is now in heaven where she is in peace and perfect happiness. As she was entering heaven the Lord blessed us with a new life. A precious baby boy. I'm sharing a photo with new great nephew. He's just perfect!!

Mock Alchol Ink Tutorial

The colors aren't so clear in the video. Sorry! Videoing from my camera. Must get a Video Camera. But this is the technique I used when making the butterflies for the Birthday Card I posted this morning.

Mock Alchol Inks Butterflies / Andrea's Birthday Card

Once again I had viewed a video on alchol ink and thought how can I do that with my inks from Stampin' Up!. So I pulled out some White Glossy Paper, Cotton Balls, Reinkers, and Alchol! I had cut some paper about 4 1/2" x 5" and put a generous amount of Alchol on my cotton ball then dotted three different inks on the cotton ball in a row. (Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise) then swiped cotton ball over card stock straight across a couple of times in the same place, then moved down and did the same, continue to graduate down until card stock was covered. I then rolled my brayer over a few times and then punched out my butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch. My friend Andrea will get this for her Birthday Card!

Emboss Resist

I was playing round after watching one of Kristina Werners http://www.kwernerdesign.com/ card videos. I really enjoy her videos and thought I might try to do the technique she used but with products I have thru Stampin' Up! It came out totally different but I really like it. It was fun!

Baby Show Card

Well I'm heading to Texas today for my niece's baby shower. So this is the card I made for the shower. I had did a punch swap a while back and someone had used their tag punch to do a flower like this. It reminds me of a quilt so I really like this fold. I thought this was a great card to use for a baby card. I'll do a video when I get back from Texas and show you how I did the fold. I like paper fold techniques. I guess because I've sewn for quite some time and it reminds me of fabric!!! K chck back for the video next week!!

Explosion Card Tutorial

Ok here is the tutorial for the explosion card I made. The video isn't the greatest since this is my first video I've uploaded. I'm still getting this figured out! But I think this will show you what you need, to do your own. Enjoy!

Explosion Card

I created this for a group that I'm a member of. Hope you enjoy. I used the Fifth Avenue stamp set and embossed with gold embossing powder. I trimmed the flowers out and entangled them with each other. The designer paper is the Parisian from Stampin' Up! which is retiring with the catalog. I loved this paper. It is so beautiful. Hope you enjoy.

An Evening in SanDestin

After brushing off the sand we cleaned up a bit and headed to the Village. It was Mini Mardi Gras nite! Living in Louisiana it was kinda neat to see they like to put on their own little rendition of Mardi Gras. It's perfect for families. My kids are not little anymore so it was really nice to see all the kids out enjoying all the fun. It really brings back memories of all the fun we had when our kids were younger. But now I get to enjoy the teenage years and my oldest is turning twenty. Well hears a pict to share a bit of our evening.

Bonnets Are Beautiful

Today I spent lots of time taking care of some much needed problem solving. So settling down thinking about what I should share with you brought me to a vision of delicate bonnets. One of the first things I created for my little girl to wear home from the hospital. A bonnet is truly a must for a little girl. Once you place it on her little head you see a little flower in bloom. So here are a few bonnets I've created and wanted to share with you. So if smocking is something you would like to do, I encourage you to start with a smocked bonnet.

Beads of fun!

I enjoy learning. I recently learned how to make beaded ornaments. Beads are great! I like the texture and color. So I'm sharing a pict with you of my latest ornament. I good friend of mine taught me how to create these beautiful creations. I met her when I taught her how to smock! You never know what someone else can share with you. So make sure you share with others. I do.

Permission Granted

Ok, I have given myself permission to play and to get to blogging. It may not be what I ultimately want to call my own but it's a start. After reading an article in "Artful Blogging" by Leah Piken Kolidas I decided to not be so hard on myself and go ahead and share. I had pondered doing a paint over technique and finally just put paint to canvas. I also used stamps which have always intriqued me. The stamps I used are by Stampin' Up!. Well I have posted!!!

Digi Scrapbook layout

I've recently been trying my hand at some Digi Scrapbooking. I found jessicaspraque.com and purchased an online class. It was a great investment. Very easy to follow and learn from. So here is my first try at a Digi Scrapbook Page layout. This features me and my daughter.
